Chillout Mountain Summer
As Spring turns into Summer and the sun begins to sizzle, Morzine emerges from the winter and embraces the new season with all guns blazing! Pistes become alpine meadows, frozen lakes turn into fishing ponds and natural swimming pools, icy cliffs transform into climbing walls; and if by magic, a multitude of geraniums appear on every windowsill and roundabout overnight, turning the town into a beautiful alpine, summer resort.
As in winter, Morzine has a full armoury of activities, events and visitor attractions, to entice every sort of holiday maker. From hiking to biking, the thrills and spills of zip wires and Fantasticable to horse riding, golfing and parapenting, there is a bit of mountain for everyone. It is also famous enough to host the Tour de France again which comes into town from 11-13th July 2010.
It's location, just over an hour from Geneva, makes it a stunning base from which to access and explore the whole Savoie region. Culturally important towns such as Annecy, Yvoire and Evian are short drives away and access to Lake Geneva (via Thonon) is only 40 minutes away. Here you can discover another raft of activities to occupy you from local markets and lakeside restaurants to yachting, water-skiing and lounging beachside on the Lake.
Chillout Mountain has a choice of places for you to base yourselves. Make our luxurious, newly converted Savoyard farmhouse, Chalet Framboise, or the stylish Chalet Hector, your home from home. Both chalets are located down the picturesque Valley de La Manche, just 3 minutes drive from Morzine town centre, and both have balconies and gardens in which to enjoy the alpine air.
